The lack of a free source of clean water is an incessant problem for local residents. To support local communities in North Bank, Makurdi with this problem, the Tanimu foundation created a water source with a supporting structure.
The foundation funded and built a 150m deep borehole with 10,000 liter storage capacity tanks and a solar-powered system. It was commissioned on May 27th, 2016 and has since served the community with clean water that is scheduled twice daily.
This free water source is easily accessible to the central community and has significantly relieved the incessant problem of finding clean water. To ensure its continued sustainability and maintenance, a five-man local committee has been set up to monitor and oversee the project, which is located on Eri Street in North Bank, Makurdi, Nigeria.
